DIY Dollar Tree Embellishments

Today’s frugal project:  flower embellishments.  I found some ugly white flowers at Dollar Tree.  I also found a couple “picks”, the things you put into flower arrangements, usually plastic and often tacky.

I took the flowers home and sprayed them with a quick spritz of pink spray paint.  I let them dry.

After ripping them all apart, so the petals were all separated from the stems, I began making small flowers from the larger petals.  I cut them and hot glued them together to make buds and flowers, I added some of the plastic pieces from the picks for the centers.  These are perfect for art journal or scrapbook pages.

For three bucks I have a mountain of petals with which to create many, many embellishments.
