Artist Trading Card Bases

These are the Artist Trading Card bases I made today.  The purpose here was to use up pictures I didn’t particularly care for the way they were and create something else with them.  The darker ones have 7 different layers on them to create a textural, colorful base for what ever else I want to do with them.  The watercolor paintings on three of them are the base for building a three dimensional card.  The shimmer sprayed ones are ready for anything, really, I haven’t given them much thought yet.

I have made many, many cards today and I have found it quite relaxing.  There is no pressure to create the most beautiful “art” because it’s just a small piece of paper and I’m using scraps to create them.  My next set will be themed.  I haven’t decided what the theme will be, but that will give me a jumping off point to get started.

My thought is Pride and Prejudice.  I love that mini-series with Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle.  When I can’t sleep at night, this mini-series is playing in the background.  I’ve been watching it quite a bit lately…
